The client situation
Illustrative example: The people, rates and session amounts below are fictional and shown in USD. This is a proposed workflow, not a customer story or testimonial.
A tarot service does not have to begin with a long appointment. Some people want space to explore one question, understand a reading and ask a brief clarification. A clearly bounded live chat can serve that need without turning every conversation into an open-ended session.
Here is how a fictional reader, Mara, could offer that service through Ownlybiz: her own website, a published rate and a conversation with a human reader. The cards provide prompts for personal reflection; Mara does not present them as proof about another person’s thoughts or guarantees about future events.
Define the question before defining the session
Mara calls her offer “One question, one live conversation.” Her service description explains what a client receives: a short reading, an explanation of the interpretation and time to clarify the same question.
She gives examples of a suitable starting point: “What would help me approach a difficult conversation?” or “Which priorities should I reflect on before making this change?” She avoids promising a definitive answer to whether an ex will return or an investment will succeed.
The page also states the chat rate, an expected duration and the limits of the service. Medical, legal and financial decisions belong with appropriately qualified professionals. The client remains responsible for their choices.
That description makes the offer easier to evaluate before anyone starts paying for a conversation.
Make the cost understandable before the clock starts
Alex finds Mara’s website through a link she shares with her existing audience. Alex wants to reflect on an upcoming conversation with a friend.
Mara’s fictional rate is $2.50 per minute. With no introductory time or discount, they agree to aim for no more than 12 minutes, giving this worked example a session charge of 12 × $2.50 = $30 if the conversation lasts the full agreed time. That is the client’s illustrative session charge, not Mara’s earnings after applicable fees.
These stages illustrate a conversation; the product does not impose these stage lengths.
Mara explains the current on-screen billing information before the paid conversation begins. A live chat includes time spent reading, thinking and typing; the client should understand the meter rather than assume only messages themselves count.
Mara takes responsibility for the agreed time limit. She watches the elapsed time and finishes within the agreement unless Alex explicitly chooses to continue at the stated rate.
| Fictional conversation | Time | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Frame the question | 2 minutes | Alex explains the conversation they are preparing for |
| Discuss the reading | 7 minutes | Mara shares her interpretation and asks what feels relevant |
| Clarify and close | 3 minutes | Alex chooses one reflection to take away and they end the session |
| Total | 12 billed minutes | $30 at $2.50 per minute |

Keep the live reading focused
At the beginning, Mara restates Alex’s question and checks that it matches the offer. She then uses her usual cards and reading method. Mara personally interprets the cards and writes her replies in Ownlybiz’s live chat.
Mara explains each observation in ordinary language and invites Alex to say what feels relevant. She distinguishes an interpretation from a factual claim. Instead of “Your friend is hiding something,” she might ask, “Does this suggest a concern you want to address directly?”
Near the agreed finish, Mara asks whether one point needs clarification. If Alex introduces an unrelated relationship or career question, she explains that it needs a separate conversation. Keeping the scope visible protects the usefulness of the original session.
Finish clearly, then make follow-ups optional
Mara summarizes the main reflection and helps Alex identify a question to consider afterward. They use End Session and review the session record. Alex keeps their own notes about what they want to reflect on later.
A later clarification can be a new, short paid chat when Mara is available. She confirms the rate, the narrow question and the intended stopping point again. It is optional, with no implied subscription or obligation to buy another reading.
This approach fits readers who already have people to invite to their website. It gives that audience a clear way to buy a small conversation; it does not promise that the website itself will supply clients.
For setup, Mara uses Services & Rates → Per-minute rates for her live-chat price, completes the account and payment requirements, and publishes the service explanation on her site. She starts with one active client so the reading receives her full attention.
Ownlybiz Starter is $39 USD per month and includes a website, owned-domain connection and human live chat, voice and video. Domain purchase and renewal are separate. The two-calendar-month software trial requires a payment method; client-payment fees still apply. Review the current plans, supported business countries and payment fees before choosing a plan for your service.
Does this workflow require a long booked reading?
No. The example is one focused paid live chat when the reader is available. The service description should state the question it covers, the per-minute rate and the intended stopping point before the client starts.
Does the chat meter count only messages that the reader sends?
No. It measures elapsed live-session time, so reading, thinking and typing can occur during paid time. Explain the billing information before starting and explicitly end the session when the conversation is complete.
Does Ownlybiz interpret the cards in this example?
The reader uses their own cards and reading method and personally writes the interpretation in live chat. The offer is framed as personal reflection, with no guarantee about future events or another person’s thoughts.
